We are delighted to share our September newsletter with all of our beloved colour enthusiasts. We have been working hard on a variety of projects that we can finally share with you. Enjoy!

One Henry Adams

Colour Studio worked closely with BAR Architects to create a site specific color palette that would nestle within the historic Design District of San Francisco. The dominance of red brick buildings in the neighborhood offered a framework of rich color. We referenced the brick tones in small gestures while implementing a dynamic charcoal brick at the main entry portal to enhance modernity and contemporality.

Avalon Dogpatch

Avalon Dog Patch was a collaboration with three firms – Pyatok and associate architects Owen Kennerly Architects & Planning and Mithun/Solomon. The site was formerly the SF Opera’s warehouse for storing costumes and other opera paraphernalia. Located adjacent to the I-280 freeway, it was a wonderful opportunity to stimulate new residential development between the eastern waterfront and Potrero Hill.

Oakley Recreation Center

We enjoyed our collaboration with Siegel and Strain and the city of Oakley to develop colors for the new Oakley Recreation Center. The architectural design demonstrated a strong central volume in smooth stucco punctuated by full height windows. Cement fiber panels bookend the shorter volumes. The entire building is capped by a metal roof. The colors were inspired by site specific natural surroundings referencing soil, rock, and vegetation.
